Knight Treasures by C.C.Wiley Cover Reveal!

KNIGHT TREASURES
by C.C. Wiley
Genre: Historical Romance

Pub Date: 12/12/17

In 15th Century England, alliances can be deadly for a Knight of the Swan. Especially those made in the heat of passion…
Fleeing for her life after a savage attack on her homeland, Lady Sabine of Clearmorrow finds sanctuary on the windswept shores of southern England, praying that her family reaches her before her foes. When Sir Darrick of Lockwood shows up in a swirl of raging wildfires, Sabine is not willing to trust the dark knight, though he may be her last hope. And when she learns of his urgent quest to locate his sister, she realizes she may be his, too…
Lady Sabine is the last woman who saw his beloved sister alive, which is the only reason Darrick demands she join him on the perilous journey to bring Elizabeth home. But even as he shelters Sabine from their powerful enemies—and savors the sweet passion between them—he wonders if the brave beauty will bring him all that he desires, or draw him deeper into danger….

#AlwaysTheHusband #ad @StMartinsPress @SheSpeaksUp It's Always the Husband by Michele Campbell Review!

Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny. They first met as college roommates and soon became inseparable, even though they are as different as three women can be. Twenty years later, one of them is standing at the edge of a bridge . . and someone else is urging her to jump.

How did things come to this?

As the novel cuts back and forth between their college years and their adult years, you see the exact reasons why these women love and hate each other—but can feelings that strong lead to murder? Or will everyone assume, as is often the case, that it’s always the husband?

 bit.ly/AmazonIATHSheSpeaks

Michele Campbell is a graduate of Harvard College and Stanford Law School and a former federal prosecutor in New York City who specialized in international narcotics and gang cases.

A while back, she said goodbye to her big-city legal career and moved with her husband and two children to an idyllic New England college town a lot like Belle River in IT’S ALWAYS THE HUSBAND. Since then, she has spent her time teaching criminal and constitutional law and writing novels.

She's had many close female friends, a few frenemies, and only one husband, who – to the best of her knowledge – has never tried to kill her.

"Go ahead and jump, you know you want to."

Thus starts It's Always the Husband by Michele Campbell, a psychological thriller that had me from the first page. Jealousy, intrigue and murder but not really until later in the book does it all start to come together. Not a really fast paced story, but that is ok, because the reader is brought into each of the friends and their lives and relationships to each other, in college and in the present.

Kate, the quintessential rich girl, having issues of her own. Her mother is not in the picture, she has a stepmother of whom she loathes. She has a rocky relationship with her father so she loves to party, drink and do drugs.

Aubrey, a poor girl who was able to get a full scholarship that enables her to go to an exclusive college. She immediately forms an attachment to Kate, maybe because there is some jealousy there and she wants Kate to like her.

Jenny is a townie, who is a bit more standoffish and scholarly. She would rather study than party.

The three roommates form a 20+ year bond, maybe not because they are great friends but because of circumstances and events that happen in their college years.

The story is told with different voices in different chapters, in the present and in their college years. With a lot of mystery and drama,we learn alot about these three very different women and their lives after college. So getting back to the title, It's Always the Husband, or is it? This is a great debut novel and I look forward to reading more by this author!

A Perfect Manhattan Murder (A Nic & Nigel Mystery) by Tracy Kiely Book Tour and Giveaway!

A Perfect Manhattan Murder (A Nic & Nigel Mystery) by Tracy Kiely

A Perfect Manhattan Murder (A Nic & Nigel Mystery) by Tracy Kiely Cozy Mystery 3rd in Series Midnight Ink (May 8, 2017) Paperback: 240 pages ISBN-13: 978-0738745244 E-Book ASIN: B01LXJQVDI
Synopsis
The play’s the thing, but it’s the star-studded after-party that sends sparks flying
Thrilled that their friend’s Broadway debut was a rousing success, Nic and Nigel Martini, along with Nic’s college pal Harper, are trying to enjoy the exclusive after-party. Unfortunately, all the champagne and repartee in the world aren’t enough to overlook the churlish behavior of Harper’s husband, Dan. Nic is shocked the next morning when she learns that Dan’s been murdered. Nigel thinks the world may be a better place without him.
Still, Harper’s their friend and they’re intent on helping her any way they can. The Martinis will stop at nothing—with the possible exception of cocktails and walks with their bull mastiff Skippy—to see that the killer ends up behind bars.

About The Author –

Tracy Kiely is a self-proclaimed Anglophile (a fact which distresses certain members of her Irish Catholic family). She grew up reading Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and watching Hitchcock movies. She fell in love with Austen’s wit, Christie’s clever plots, and Hitchcock’s recurrent theme of “the average man caught in extraordinary circumstances.”
After spending years of trying to find a proper job that would enable her to use her skills garnered as an English major, she decided to write a book. It would, of course, have to be a mystery; it would have to be funny; and it would have to feature an average person caught up in extraordinary circumstances. She began to wonder how the characters in Pride and Prejudice might fit into a mystery. What, if after years of living with unbearably rude and condescending behavior, old Mrs. Jenkins up and strangled Lady Catherine? What if Charlotte snapped one day and poisoned Mr. Collins’ toast and jam? Skip ahead several years, and several different plot ideas, and you have her first mystery Murder at Longbourn.
While she does not claim to be Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, or Hitchcock (one big reason being that they’re all dead), she has tried to combine the elements of all three in her books.

TEXAS FIRE
by Gerry Bartlett
Pub. Date: 5/2/2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Her father’s dream. Her crossroads. And a man who sees just her . . .

Megan Calhoun doesn’t stick with anything long. She’s the daughter of a billionaire—why pretend to be somebody else? Until she finds out her father’s will says she has to. She has to last a year in the oil patch, in the dust and heat of West Texas, working for her daddy’s company. Otherwise she’s cut off without a cent—and no way to earn one.

The only upside is her new pal Rowdy Baker, ex-football star, Calhoun engineer, and grade-A stud. If she has to live in a trailer, his doesn’t sound so bad. Rowdy knows the roughnecks running the rigs won’t take kindly to a smartass blonde rookie whose last name matches their paychecks. He can’t control his attraction to her. And with everyone from the foremen to the stockholders spitting mad at the Calhouns, he expects trouble ahead.

But Megan has never been scared in her life. And with Rowdy to help her plot, she has the chance of a lifetime: to find her calling, to fix her company, and, if she doesn’t screw it up—to capture a heart . . .

Fiery fissures close, and thick descending clouds dissipate, revealing the heavenly skies of Wanderamid, and its neighboring worlds. Nevertheless, evil lurks amid the celebration of sustained existence. A demon known as, Lepper, discerns one whose blood runs through pulsating veins, like his own. It provokes his diabolic interest to heighten, and motivates him to search for this individual. He embarks on his pursuit by going through electrifying portals, no longer accessible to mortals, ever since Wanderamid’s crystal ball was placed back to its rightful place, in palms of stone.
Emera, Wanderamid’s powerful witch, finds out about her son’s imminent transformation. His demonic fate leaves her in grave disbelief. She has no notion where he could be, and unaware that he is the purpose for a demon’s hunt!

EXCERPT

The peephole's first vision was that of a man sitting beside an old woman, seemingly ill, and oddly grinning down at her, while she, surprised, looked up at him.

"Why did you come back?" she asked sadly.

"You don't seem at all happy to see me, Mother. I wanted to make sure you were on your way to the heavens you've always dreamed your ‘spirit’ would rise up to." He smiled with his arms raised high.

"I'm not departing any time soon, my son. It's only my weakness increasing. I've always wished the same for you too, but you chose to accept eternity in the deep depths of …." She turned her head away, unable to finish.

"You can't even say it." He chuckled. "Use 'eternal flames', or 'darkness', Mother! Can your cracked old lips say those words instead?"

She forced herself to see his red glaring eyes again, and when she did, she reminisced about the day she had given birth to him. If only he had not chosen to welcome his demonic inheritance.

"I tried to save you… both of my sons. I would have given my life."

"Hmm," his voice murmured, unimpressed by her boring statement of unconditional love. "Daeg is not as I. He has more of your soul… your ‘pathetic’ soul. Besides, when death finds him, he will be shunned out from any ‘darkness’ and rise up to your precious heavens!" He laughed. "On the other hand, you saved Father! Be glad for that! You turned his soul to be weak as yours with your ‘love’—and now he's dead!"

Tears escaped her solemn stare.

"I've prayed that my boys would find someone to love them as much as I did your father. He loved me the same, yes, but he was not weak. His love was strong. That's how he became free from the temptations with the dark world."

"I don't have any storage for sympathy; Mother," he replied, "and I don't have a heart to share with anyone."

"How can you say such a thing? You have a heart. When you were born… you had a heart. I felt it beating… and nurtured it," she said, even though he was visibly dispassionate.

"Oh, I will deceive someone, with my fake heart, and she will bear my child. That child will follow me after choosing my ‘gift of eternal darkness,’ and then walk beside me."

Even to imagine that as her unborn grandchild's fate sickened her more, as she lay in a fragile spell.

"Please—don't encourage an innocent child to a life of despair," she pleaded. "If you can do anything for me, I beg of you, grant me that."

"I'm your son! You didn't steer me your way!" He glared at her ferociously.

"Your father and I both gave our sons love. What you boys choose will be your destiny. It's not up to me, although I tried my best!" she cried.
