The purr of my pink Cadillac's engine fills the air as I pull into the garage, echoing off the walls and sending a shiver down my spine. I've been through hell and back lately, but one look at this place tells me I'm in good hands.

"Hey there," a deep voice calls out, snapping me from my thoughts. The rugged mechanic approaches me, his hands wiping on a greasy rag. The sight of him makes my heart race, and I find myself struggling to maintain my composure.
The sight of his thick arms pumping up and down as he wipes the oil from his hands to his sleeves has my heart beating out of my chest. I can feel my body flush with desire as I watch him, a nervous smile spreading across my face.
I can see his lips moving, but his words are drowned out by the sound of my heart pounding in my ears.
He's beautiful, in a rugged sort of way. His chest is huge and muscled, and his arms are thick. His dirty, ripped jeans fit him perfectly, and I wonder if they're going to burst at the seams. His black work shirt is unbuttoned, revealing a chiseled, ripped torso. His arms are sculpted, leading to a bulge in his jeans. He's the most handsome man I've ever seen.
"Welcome to Wolf's Garage. I'm Billy. What can I do for you?"
"Hi, I'm Claire," I stammer, my cheeks flushing with heat. "I, uh, think my car needs an oil change."
As soon as our eyes meet, I feel the connection. My lingering gaze alights on his rugged features – the stubble lining his strong jaw, the gentle curve of his full lips, the intensity in those blue eyes that seem to see straight through me. THE FUTURE

“WILL IT HURT?”

“No Mrs McMillan it won’t hurt.”

“You’re sure?”

“Positive.”

“And it really works?”

Mrs Erica McMillan’s eyes are red, gritty, sore. She’s crumpled and defeated. She cried all morning. She cried for months. For a man she gave her life to. She’s hopeful the treatment will solve all her problems.

They’re in Dr John Applegate’s office. Dr Applegate sits behind a glass desk. He pushes his wire glasses up his nose.

“Yes Mrs McMillan, the treatment really works.”

Dr Applegate knows most patients come through the doors looking fragile, wishing on a dream, not quite understanding the treatment, not sure they believe it even. Now the pain in Mrs McMillan darkens into spiteful, narrow eyes.

“I want to forget him. I want my husband gone from my memory.” The hate boils inside her for what her husband did to her. How dare he. How dare he. She almost spits the next words out.

“I don’t want to know that man exists any more.”

Dr Applegate takes this in. He gets this a lot – misunderstanding. The people who sit opposite are exhausted. Weary. Burnt out. In pain. Emotionally, bitterly confused. This treatment is a last lunge at hope. He clears his throat.

“Mrs McMillan, I’m afraid you’re thinking of the movie The Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.”

Dr Applegate’s seen the film a dozen times himself. The film starts where Kate Winslet’s ended a troubled relationship with Jim Carrey and he soon discovers – when she doesn’t recognise him at a counter – she has had her memory of him deleted.

Mrs McMillan frowns in confusion.

“Isn’t that what you do? Make people forget the person they love? Isn’t that what you did with Cooper Hall?”

Cooper Hall. The woman who made the clinic accidentally famous because of her unusual request that resulted in the media frenzy.

“No I’m afraid not, Mrs McMillan.”

The confusion deepens.

“But please don’t despair. I said we can’t erase your memory of your husband. I didn’t say what we can do. We do something so much better.”

“What is it you do then?”

This is the part Dr Applegate enjoys, giving his patients back the emotional control they so crave. Giving them back command of their lives far from the emotions tearing them apart. He leans forward.

Mrs McMillan leans forward.

He places his elbows on the desk.

She waits, expectant.

He steeples his long fingers.

“It’s simply this Mrs McMillan. We erase your love.”

I'm a British author who loves page-turners. It doesn't have to be a thriller. It can be anything, I just want to feel that desperate urge to turn the page. And if it grabs me on the first page...or the first paragraph...or the first sentence...Well! All the better.

I worked in the television industry for many years. However, though I’ve worked with words all my life, I’ve only recently decided to do something with it. I have a love of radio dramas and audio books and my writing has been heavily influenced by both.

I live on the English coast and love sea and nature reserve walks whenever I get the opportunity (at least once a week, sometimes more). I also love to wake early, long before the rest of the world has caught up with me.

Although he had known every haint who existed, Patrick had never attempted to contact any of them until now. Patrick recognized the man as one of the Philadelphia haints -- his name was Web and he likely traveled with his lover, Casper Wainright, who was probably asleep in the bedroom. Patrick managed to blurt, “Stevens.” He wasn’t ready to divulge everything yet. “I’d like to speak to Luke.”

“Okay, Stevens, how can Luke help you?” A big grin split the good-looking man’s face. “Luke’s uh, resting. With Dallas. Perhaps I can assist your handsome ass.” He turned toward the interior of the suite. “Luke, someone to see you.” Web started stroking his shaft.

Lord help me! Trying not to stare at Web’s dick, Patrick angled to see past him. He observed Luke gently lift a guy who slept in his arms. The carefulness with which he carried the young man out of sight dumbfounded Patrick.

The fact they’d fallen asleep butt ass naked on the sofa came as no surprise, though. Patrick had encountered circumstances like this when he released his woodsy aroma, enticing one, sometimes two men to whatever hotel room he occupied. But I never cared for them or their comfort in such a manner. Goodness sake’s, the spirits inside the room didn’t even bother to mask their scent. Patrick’s cock started a dance in his pants. What the hell? “Long as you’re not going to tone down the cedar, I’m game.” He released his own scent into the air.

The fragrant mist surrounded Patrick and Web, who pivoted and glowered. “Impossible. You’re a… Who the fuck did you say you were?”

“Stevens.” Patrick asked, “You going to leave me standing out here? Our erotic bouquet might wake the whole hotel.”
