Reviews!

To any authors/publishers/ tour companies that are looking for the reviews that I signed up for please know this is very hard to do. I will be stopping reviews temporarily. My husband passed away February 1st and my new normal is a bit scary right now and I am unable to concentrate on a book to do justice to the book and authors. I will still do spotlight posts if you wish it is just the reviews at this time. I apologize for this, but it isn't fair to you if I signed up to do a review and haven't been able to because I can't concentrate on any books. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. I appreciate all of you. Kathleen Kelly April 2nd 2024

(Jacob has left university and can’t get
Jacob hated signing on. It was so degrading. Even as a twenty-two year old, he could feel the shame. He knew that for people in their fifties who had worked all their days, then found themselves out of work due to this damned recession, that it galled them to have to ask for help from the state. But they needed to, and so did he. It wasn’t much, but it helped.
No matter how many interviews he was invited to, and there weren’t that many in comparison with how many applications he had made, he had never been offered a job. Four years of university and no job. He had struggled through university, working in bars and even as a bingo caller at one point, but he couldn’t even find that kind of work now. And for what, he had a 2:1 degree in Politics and Sociology. What use was it to him? He couldn’t even get a second interview at a call centre. What kind of failure did that make him? He was well turned-out, had a nice manner, and he thought he was relatively charming, yet the job offers were unforthcoming. To top it all, there was the not so small matter of twenty thousand pounds of student loans to pay back in the future.
Jacob’s family were rich, not just well off, but properly, stinking rich. You would think that would mean money wouldn’t worry him, but his parents were of the belief that you had to earn everything in life. So, no, they hadn’t paid his way through university. When he’d asked for help, they’d reminded him that they’d parted with enough money in the years when he had attended Gordonstoun. If they told him one more time that not everyone was lucky enough to go to the famous school attended by Prince Charles and Prince Philip, he’d do them a serious injury. So, Jacob had found himself jobs whilst at university and paid his own way. Why he ever thought his family would help him, was beyond him. Hadn’t they shipped him off to Scotland at the first possible opportunity? His parents lived in rural Bedfordshire, with apartments in London, Hong Kong, New York and Dublin, as well as condos in North Carolina and Santa Monica. His father had worked for the diplomatic service and his mother, although a trained lawyer, had chosen to travel around the world with her husband, doing some freelance work when she got bored, but mainly playing the part of diplomat’s wife, hosting dinner parties and attending tennis club events. A pity, then, that they didn’t see fit to include their son in their plans.
In the beginning Jacob had loathed boarding school. He hated being away from home, but over time he had felt more at home at Gordonstoun and when on holiday at his friends’ houses than he did in his own house. When he had then gone on to study at the University of Glasgow, some of those alliances had been broken, or perhaps not upheld as well as they had all expected. Life sent them in different directions.  Many of his peers had parents who employed them in their firms; some owned their own companies at the forefront of technology, were inventors, or had made canny investment choices long ago. Others came from old money, so had no need to work, enabling them to pick and choose their role.
           Jacob was an exception.

Release Blitz for K.R.Grace!

Title: Her Royal Christmas
Author: KR Grace
Genre: Holiday Contemporary Romance
Release Date: November 29th
Cover Designer: Buoni Amici Press

Reese Fitzgerald is living the fairytale life. She’s president of her sorority, a celebrity athlete, and is in love with her royal boyfriend Mason Livingston.
Mason’s coronation is right around the corner, and the King and Queen have personally invited Reese to attend the big event. There is just one problem: the Queen has made it her mission to ensure her son does not marry an American commoner.
Can Reese win over Mason’s parents, or will she make a royal fool of herself?

“So, what brings you to Denver, Colorado during finals?” I eyed him suspiciously as I peeled off the top of my container. The spicy smells of chicken tortilla soup hit my nostrils as I breathed in deeply. My favorite.
Mason clutched his chest as if I’d offended him greatly, causing me to arch an eyebrow at him. “Can’t I do a romantic gesture for my girlfriend without having an ulterior motive?”
I snorted. “Nice try. Seriously, just shoot straight with me. I can take it.”
Mason winced before retrieving a cream linen envelope from the inside of his sports jacket and handed it to me. I wiped my hands with a napkin before taking it from him. On the front were the words: To Mistress Reese Fitzgerald in beautiful gold calligraphy, and on the back was an honest-to-God golden wax seal that had been stamped with a crest. It was a shield with a horse, a mountain, a sword, and a cross on it flanked by two lions and a crown of jewels resting at the bottom. I eyed him warily before breaking the seal and retrieved the embossed invitation from within.
“Coronation Reception. Their Majesties request the honour of the company of Miss Reese Fitzgerald at the Coronation of Prince Mason Royce Livingston, II on the evening of Friday the 4th December 2018 from 6:30 to 7:30. Reception to follow at Grobertiger Palace from 7:30 p.m. to Midnight. Evening Dress Required,” I read aloud and then blinked several times.
“This is an invitation to your coronation?” I asked rhetorically.
“Ah, technically it is an invitation to the reception. Only the royal council, the Court, and family are allowed to attend the coronation, but Mother has promised you will be permitted to attend it as well if you’d like.”
“A coronation that is four days away?”
He cleared his throat and tugged at the collar of his shirt. “Ye-yes?”
I glowered at him as I re-read the contents of the invitation. “Mason, even if I hadn’t just spent every night this week taking my online exams and wasn’t facing the holiday book tour from hell, I couldn’t go. I don’t have anything that would be remotely appropriate for that sort of affair.”
“Milla has assured me you have the next week off, and if a dress is your only concern, I will personally see to it that you are outfitted by one of the most talented fashion designers in the industry. She does all of Mother’s and Charlotte’s dresses,” he said, referring to his four-year-old sister.
“Um, I…” I trailed off. The fact that he’d gone to Milla first to make sure my schedule was clear took away my one trump card. I couldn’t tell him that I didn’t want to go because I was still mad at his father for how he handled the whole media scandal last year that almost destroyed mine and Mason’s relationship. That would seem petty in light of the fact his coronation was something he’d been groomed for since he was a little boy. It was going to be one of the greatest moments of his life. If I really loved him, I would set aside my feelings toward his parents and be there for him.
I took in a steadying breath before nodding. “Okay. When do we leave?”
The way his eyes radiated with pure joy and his smile broadened to take up his face, it was like he was experiencing the magic of Christmas for the first time. My heart stuttered as I found myself smiling back.
“Good! That’s really good. Well, our plane leaves at seven. Do you think you will be finished before then? I can wait here or have a car pick you up.”
“I should be finished by five, but all my things are still at the hotel.”
“Let me take care of that, and I will send a car for you at five.”
He leaned over the table, clasped my face between his hands, and kissed me thoroughly. It was several minutes before we resurfaced and resumed eating. While he grinned like he’d hit the jackpot as he bit into his turkey sandwich, I swirled my spoon in my soup and wondered why I suddenly felt kinship to Daniel in the lion’s den.

As a child, K.R. Grace had an overactive imagination. When it was obvious she wasn’t going to change anytime soon, her mom shoved a pen and paper in her hand and said, “Write it down.” So, at the age of eight, her first story was born, and the writing hasn’t stopped since. When she’s not running with wolves, sleeping with bears, or flying with falcons, she can be found checking out local bands or watching movies about things that go “boo” in the night. She lives in East Tennessee with a dog that is afraid of his own shadow and a cat that was a mob leader in a former life.

In the fourth book from the Agatha Award nominated writing team of D.E. Ireland, famous literary characters Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins find they may have brought trouble with them when they attend a country house party in With A Little Bit of Blood.
Eliza is not happy when Higgins buys a snazzy roadster. Her misgivings prove correct when he becomes injured in a motor car crash. Forced to play nursemaid, Eliza is thrilled to accept an invitation to a house party from Lord Ashmore and his bride, the former Clara Eynsford-Hill. But upon their arrival at Banfield Manor, Eliza is dismayed to see her sweetheart Freddy arm in arm with a beautiful actress. Higgins is shocked to learn the woman who once stalked him is also attending the party. Things grow even worse when spiritualist Madame Evangeline arrives and warns of impending danger. Her prediction comes true when someone is killed during the following day's shoot in the forest.
Higgins and Eliza suspect it wasn't an accident, but murder. Every guest hides a dark secret that involved the dead man. But who hated him more? The French aviator, the American cinema actress, a lady novelist, the Austrian count, or a knighted explorer of the Amazon? Madame Evangeline's séance may reveal what is really going on. But her cryptic words deepen the mystery, especially after another guest turns up dead.
Who is behind these murders? And has Higgins himself been targeted? As the day of the fox hunt begins, it seems likely that more than the fox will die. Before that happens, Eliza and the Professor must discover who may have a little bit of blood on their hands.

As he fights for control of the winery he'd built from the ground up, he finds a supportive ally in Amelia and becomes increasingly beguiled by her creative spirit.

Jill McMahon is a successful novelist suffering from writer's block over her latest manuscript. Finding her niece, Amelia, at her door, reminds her of the bonds of family, but in seeing Amelia and Frederick's relationship grow, a long-forgotten and painful secret threatens to re-surface.
