If the two of them weren't so stubborn...

It's obvious to Georgiana Darcy that the lovely Elizabeth Bennet is her brother's perfect match, but Darcy's pigheadedness and Elizabeth's wounded pride are going to keep them both from the loves of their lives.
Georgiana can't let that happen, so she readily agrees to help her accommodating cousin, Anne de Bourgh, do everything within their power to assure her beloved brother's happiness.
But the path of matchmaking never runs smoothly...
My Thoughts
It seems that there is no end in sight for a sequel of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice novels. I had not read any of Mary Simonsen's work so I really had no basis to judge her writing. The Perfect Bride for Mr.Darcy follows the same premise as in the original. There was not a lot of variation in the story. Mr.Darcy is arrogant and judgemental in his first glimpse of Elizabeth Bennett. Elizabeth is angry and cold towards Mr. Darcy and spurns his marriage proposal. The other characters in the story do not vary either, Mr.Wickham is a self centered money hungry man who encourages Lydia Bennett to run away with him. Lydia does this in the hopes to get him to marry her and he wants  her for her dowry.
Georgiana Darcy and Anne de Bourgh, once they meet Elizabeth, decide that they need to do some matchmaking to get Elizabeth and Darcy to wed. Lady Catherine de Bourgh is mean spirited and Mrs Bennett is still the flighty character, whose main concern and goal in life is to see her daughters married. Aside from the story being pretty repititious, I did enjoy reading it and recommend it for any Jane Austen reader.
I received this review copy from Sourcebooks and was not monetarily compensated for my review.
