Embracing the Highland Warrior by Anita Clenney Review for Sourcebooks

When the powerful demon that left Shay for dead discovers her empty grave, he comes seeking retribution, believing she possesses an ancient book he has sought for centuries. Knowing she can’t fight the demon alone, Shay returns to her clan and the Scottish Warrior who betrayed her…the only man she’s ever loved, where she discovers that betrayal isn’t always what it seems. Sometimes it’s far worse.
Anita Clenney writes paranormal romance and romantic suspense. Before giving herself over to the writing bug, she worked in a pickle factory and a preschool, booked shows for Aztec Fire Dancers, and has been a secretary, executive assistant, and a real estate agent. She lives with her husband and two children in suburban Virginia.
My Thoughts:
Embrace the Highland Warrior is an action packed story of demons and vampires, good and evil. The story takes place in the US and Scotland and has lots of sexy men who are warriors, ridding the world of the nasty creatures that are out there, well in this book anyway. I liked all the characters that were introduced, the women feisty with supernatural powers of their own and the men to drool over. I especially loved Matilda, an old lady with lots of attitude and spunk. I enjoyed this story and found it to be a great escape book and read it in a few sittings. If you are looking for creepy creatures, lust, a fast paced sexy story, then this is for you. Did I mention the sex scenes??? Wow... There is a novel before this one that introduces some of the characters but you do not necessarily need to read it to enjoy Embracing the Highland Warrior.
I received a review copy of this book from Sourcebooks and was not monetarily compensated for my review.
