My Thoughts:
The only one in my family that I can recall was my mother who died at age 50 of liver cancer. I was not involved in her care though and she only lived two months after she was diagnosed. Fortunately no one in my immediate family has had to battle this disease. If I had to go through it myself or a family member, When Cancer Hits is the kind of book I would want to have. It is packed with helpful information from eating right, relieving stress and how to cope with hair loss and skin imperfections that a patient gets from the medications and treatments. As I was reading this book I could tell the author had to deal with this disease first hand, herself at a young age, then her father. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is going through this illness or knows of someone who is.
