Until Next Time by Amy Lignor Interview for Tribute Books

I am pleased to be part of the Until Next Time: The Angel Chronicles, Book 1, by Amy Lignor Blog Tour for Tribute Books and to have this interview from Amy...Welcome to Celticlady's Reviews!!

First, I just want to take a minute to thank you for having me on your site. I am a huge fan of anything ‘Irish,’ so I am truly honored to be here.

1. Tell me about your book.

Matt & Emily came from an idea that began many years ago. At the age of thirteen I lost my grandfather, who was my best friend in the entire world. He was strong, smart, funny, and he added a ‘magic’ to the world that has been missing ever since he ‘left.’

Matt - the warrior half of the team in Until Next Time - was actually a dream I started having. He was a young man my own age who I would talk to inside a really ‘cool’ library. I suppose you could call him an imaginary friend that I only saw when I was asleep.  He was a real help to me during a time when I was extremely upset at the world. I had a very hard time believing that any angel, being, entity - whatever word you prefer - would bother to come ‘down here’ in the first place. Yet when I spoke with him, Matt was a bit envious of me, which I found funny. He had perfection, yet he wanted to be free; he wanted to experience life and be a part of this ‘crazy’ world. As I grew up, Matt disappeared. But when my father passed away far too early in life, he returned. That was when I really wanted to tell the world his story. I wanted everyone to see exactly what it would be like for a ‘team’ that was surrounded by perfection, to suddenly be placed in a world that was completely imperfect. I wanted to know how they would handle life and all its emotions, and how they would keep their faith in each other.

Part romance, part adventure - Matt & Emily are a great team to watch and get to know. I placed them in Ireland the first time out because of the amazing beauty and history that the Irish hold so dear. I thought that location would be a perfect beginning to a ‘new’ soul that had to experience all the bad and good that came with living.

2. How did you get interested in writing this particular genre ?

I usually write adult adventure novels or historical fiction, but YA really began to carve a niche in my life. I am a reviewer for many, and the number of YA titles I was receiving grew and grew, and quickly became one of my absolute favorites to read. I love the mysticism and the magic that comes with the YA fantasy and paranormal genres. It allows all of us to step away from the harshness of daily life and go into another realm for a while. It not only helps us to dream, but it helps us to deal with the trials and tribulations of the real world around us.

Matt and Emily, I believe, are perfect for the YA world because they are unlike the other ‘angel’ books out there. They are not fallen - they are simply young, fresh, and suddenly free to do their job, experience human emotions, fall in love, fight for each other, and deal with the winning or losing that comes with life.

3. What kind of research did you do for this book?

Ireland has always been my ‘favorite’ place. I did a great deal of research on the country for the first in my Tallent & Lowery adventure series - a book called 13 - as well as a work of fiction titled, Precious Stones, so I truly had that location in my mind of what Emily and Matt’s world would look like.

4. What are you working on now?

Book II of The Angel Chronicles has just been completed and is in the editing stage as we speak. This time Emily and Matt are headed into an age that truly ran on wealth and power, in a country that was just starting to awaken. The U.S. accepted everyone at one time, and Matt & Emily learned acceptance and passion for life in the first book. Therefore, this was the perfect ‘gilded’ setting for a more fast-paced and seductive story.

I am also working on Book Five of the Tallent & Lowery adventure series titled, The Charlatan’s Crown; and a YA novel called, Meet the Reaper - a real departure from the world of angels, to say the least.

Thank you very much for sharing with us Amy!!!

Until Next Time: The Angel Chronicles, Book 1 Summary
How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.

When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel's path and a warrior's plans.

From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that's ripping them apart.
