Silver Knight by Caron Rider Interview

I am pleased to have Caron Rider, author of Silver Knight here today at Celticlady's Reviews.

So Caron tell me about your book. How did you come up with that idea?

Silver Knight is about a girl who discovers she's a reincarnated, demon-killing warrior by recognizing a priest in a video from a previous life. She dreams of those previous lives and how she dies (sometimes pretty horribly). Through time she has fallen in love, betrayed, and been killed by a demon. Then she meets him in modern day as she goes to help the priest. What will she do? I have been inspired through the years by a couple of movies that focused on reincarnation, and then I just put my own special demon twist on the idea. Dead Again is a really cool movie about an amnesiac and detective who discover during an investigation into an old murder mystery that they are the reincarnated participants; and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever is a romantic comedy about a psychiatrist and kooky woman and all her past lives. Really fun.

What kind of research did you do for this book? 
 It's not that I specifically did a bunch of research just for this book. My entire life, I have enjoyed history and have taught high school history for several years. So many of my ideas I already knew and just had to do the occasional foray into actual research. 
What's a typical working day like for you? When and where do you write? Do you set a daily writing goal? 
 I get up early because I have to get my kids off to school. So my laptop starts up at about 6:00a.m. and I don't stop either writing or dealing with social networking, marketing, etc. until about 10:00p.m. Of course, I pause to clean house, cook, do laundry and all that jazz, but not for long!

In the 1990s Caron Rider began teaching adults to use computer software, hardware, and networking. After several years, her clients became younger and younger until she found herself tutoring high school dropouts to pass the GED. She found working with at-risk teenagers so rewarding that she changed her undergraduate major to Education.
