Promise to Protect by Liz Johnson Review and Giveaway

Navy SEAL Matt Waterstone knows about keeping people safe. When his best friend's sister is attacked, Matt promises no harm will come to Ashley Sawyer—not on his watch. But Matt's not the only protective one. Ashley will do anything to safeguard the residents of the battered women's shelter she runs. She's sure she can handle the threats she gets in return. What she can't handle is the way Matt scales the walls around her heart. Yet when she falls prey to a crime web far more sinister than she'd realized, trusting Matt could be the only way to survive…

My Thoughts

A Promise to Protect by Liz Johnson is a story about a who woman is attacked and stalked by an unknown assailant. Ashley Sawyer runs a shelter for abused women and she is devoted to what she does. When someone attacks her, her brother's friend Matt, takes it upon himself to protect her and try to find out who is after her. In the process he starts to fall for her but thinks that her brother will not find him good enough for Ashley so he keeps his growing feelings to himself. He made a promise to protect so he tries to put these feelings on the back burner. Ashley on the other hand is resistant at first to accept Matt's help but she also starts to have feelings for him. This story is filled with suspense as the person/s after her continue to torment her. The main characters are very likable and the story line is one that could happen to any woman. Liz Johnson's story's are sweet without being sappy and still keep the element of suspense. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
