Random Acts of Kindness Giveaway Hop.
February 17th to 24th
So my giveaway for this hop is:
One(1) paperback copy of Bring Up The Bodies by Hilary Mantle, author of Wolf Hall and winner of the Mann Booker Prize
Though he battled for seven years to marry her, Henry is disenchanted with Anne Boleyn. She has failed to give him a son and her sharp intelligence and audacious will alienate his old friends and the noble families of England. When the discarded Katherine dies in exile from the court, Anne stands starkly exposed, the focus of gossip and malice.
At a word from Henry, Thomas Cromwell is ready to bring her down. Over three terrifying weeks, Anne is ensnared in a web of conspiracy, while the demure Jane Seymour stands waiting her turn for the poisoned wedding ring. But Anne and her powerful family will not yield without a ferocious struggle. Hilary Mantel's Bring Up the Bodies follows the dramatic trial of the queen and her suitors for adultery and treason. To defeat the Boleyns, Cromwell must ally with his natural enemies, the papist aristocracy. What price will he pay for Anne's head?

This book sounds so interesting! And I've been trying to do random acts of kindness more often. They've just little things but like at school when I'm looking at a friend and think how pretty they look I actually tell them! Isn't nice to get a compliment every once in awhile.

I think we will try to do as many different things as we can for the special day, but we do like to pay for people's dinner, and donate money when it isn't expected.

I've had my eye on this book! A random nice thing I did recently was offer a free extra concert ticket I had to a friend who has two young kids and one on the way, and she doesn't have much opportunity to go out much like that. Thanks for the giveaway chance! kristinshafel [at] gmail [dot] com

Thanks for the giveaway!! Random acts of kindness happen all the time. Sometimes we don't even notice when they occur. Living on a christian college campus, I'm constantly thanking people for opening doors to the point of ridiculousness. In fact, the other day while I was working at the campus store, a young boy, probably the age of 16, found $17 on the floor and turned it in claiming that someone had dropped it. How honest and sweet is that!?
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day and I hope your day is filled with random acts of kindness!

This book has been on my to-read list for ages, would love to win.
ReplyDeleteWe ended up not going anywhere today, so I'll do a "real" act of kindness tomorrow....but for today, I made my daughter's favorite meal. :)

Seeing as today is over and the greatest thing I've done today is spend time with my family (which was amazing), I will have to do something tomorrow. I don't plan these types of things though, I like to show kindness to anyone I meet. Hopefully tomorrow will give me an opportunity to do something for someone else though!
ReplyDeleteIt's the best feeling to help someone!

I haven't planned anything specific yet, but I'm thinking of going and helping my mother-in-law clean out her basement so that she can get around more easily. Little things I try to do daily. A smile, a compliment, letting someone else go in front of you in line or stopping to let a car through on a busy street. But I would like to think of something more - that doesn't involve money, I have none to spare! :)

ReplyDeleteI know it is past Random Acts of Kindness day but my plan is to make something nice for my mailman. He works very hard everyday and on days like this (snow, rain and sleet) it makes me feel like they will never be paid enough.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a chance to win this book.

I was out grocery shopping when I saw a lemon poppy seed creme cake. I know that this is my mom's favorite store-bought dessert, so I purchased that and a box of her favorite tea. She was delighted when I dropped by with them!

I like to compliment people while out and about and sometimes pay for the people behind me in drive throughs
ReplyDeletesagegiveaway@yahoo.com
These are things I actually try to do every day (or almost). Let people out in who are waiting to get in the line in traffic, letting someone who has only a few items go ahead of me at the store check out, stopping to buy a paper from a homeless person.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I loved Wolf Hall.
