Reviews!

To any authors/publishers/ tour companies that are looking for the reviews that I signed up for please know this is very hard to do. I will be stopping reviews temporarily. My husband passed away February 1st and my new normal is a bit scary right now and I am unable to concentrate on a book to do justice to the book and authors. I will still do spotlight posts if you wish it is just the reviews at this time. I apologize for this, but it isn't fair to you if I signed up to do a review and haven't been able to because I can't concentrate on any books. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. I appreciate all of you. Kathleen Kelly April 2nd 2024

The Stonecutter by Camilla Lackberg Review

The third psychological thriller from No 1 bestselling Swedish crime sensation Camilla Lackberg.

The remote resort of Fjallbacka has seen its share of tragedy, though perhaps none worse than that of the little girl found in a fisherman's net. But the post-mortem reveals that this is no case of accidental drowning!

Local detective Patrik Hedstrom has just become a father. It is his grim task to discover who could be behind the methodical murder of a child both he and his partner, Erica, knew well. He knows the real question - and answer - lies with why. What he does not know is how this case will reach into the dark heart of Fjallbacka and the town's past, and tear aside its idyllic facade, perhaps forever.

About the Author
Born in 1974, Camilla Läckberg graduated from Gothenburg University of Economics, before moving to Stockholm where she worked for a few years as an economist. However, a course in creative writing triggered a drastic change of career. Her first six novels all became Swedish No. 1 bestsellers. She lives in a suburb of Stockholm.

My Thoughts
This is the first book that I have read by Camilla Lackberg. I found this book to be kind of scary, especially when it involved the death of a child. It continues the story of local detective Patrik Hedström and his girlfriend, Erica FalckThere are quite a few characters along with a subplot of a stonecutters family. At first I was confused as to the purpose of this other story that at first did not seem to have anything to do with the main story. As the pages turned, and in my case that was pretty fast, I became to understand the reason for the story. This novel is about who killed a child and why..told in a very suspenseful way, of jealousy, hate and love in a town of dysfunctional people with real human emotions.  I thoroughly enjoyed this chilling story and will definitely read more by Ms.Lackberg.

Thank you to Simon & Schuster for sending me a review copy. I was not monetarily compensated for my review.
