About the Author
Beate Boeker is a marketing manager by day and a writer by night. She has a degree in International Business Administration and her daily experience in marketing continuously provides her with a wide range of fodder for her novels, be it hilarious or cynical. Widely traveled, she speaks German (her mother language), English, French and Italian fluently and lives in the North of Germany together with her husband and daughter.
While 'Boeker' means 'books' in a German dialect, her first name Beate can be translated as ‘Happy’ . . . and with a name that reads ‘Happy Books’, what else could she do but write novels with a happy end? Although being German, she has chosen to write in English because she appreciates the professional support and training opportunities a writer can find in the US.

My Thoughts
Delayed in Death is the first in a series called Temptation in Florence by author Beate Boeker. A cozy mystery series that is sure to grab you and transport you into the lives of the enormous Mantoni family, who most of the members live in the same building in Florence, Italy. No privacy there. Believe me this is one crazy Italian family. Told with enough scariness and humor to make this a fun read. I loved the snarky humor of Carlina, the lead female character as she tries to figure out who killed grandpa. The murders and attempted murders are no laughing matter though. Commissario Garini has Carlina in his sights as the primary suspect although he does find that after awhile he does start to believe her protestations of innocence in the deaths. There is an attraction between Carlina and Garini, although the romance is not the main part of the story. This book, has it all, a killer, humor, lots of humor, and enough excitement to keep the reader wanting more. There are some editing issues that are easily corrected but all in all I thought this was a great story and I think I will read the next in the series.
I received a copy of this book for review and was not monetarily compensated for my review.
