Reviews!

To any authors/publishers/ tour companies that are looking for the reviews that I signed up for please know this is very hard to do. I will be stopping reviews temporarily. My husband passed away February 1st and my new normal is a bit scary right now and I am unable to concentrate on a book to do justice to the book and authors. I will still do spotlight posts if you wish it is just the reviews at this time. I apologize for this, but it isn't fair to you if I signed up to do a review and haven't been able to because I can't concentrate on any books. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. I appreciate all of you. Kathleen Kelly April 2nd 2024

In Accord by Kristin Chambers Review!

About the Book
It's October in Buffalo as four long-time friends, The In Accord Book Club, gather around a fireplace while a fierce windstorm amasses strength outside. They are deeply disappointed with the unfaithful characters and lackluster resolution of the novel they've met to discuss. When they agree to each write a richer, more satisfying conclusion in lieu of their next month's selection, none has any idea of the tempests about to erupt in her own world. Their intertwined lives and personal journeys, by turns humorous, sad, touching, and inspiring, furnish the raw ingredients for the new epilogue each writes.

                                                                   About the Author
KRISTIN CHAMBERS designs curriculum at the Center for Development of Human Services at Buffalo State University College. She is a former professor of social work and worked for many years as a youth and family counselor. The author of two plays, Tuesday's Child and North to Freedom, she lives on a windswept hilltop in Hinsdale, NY.

My Thoughts:
In Accord is a unique story about four friends, Maggie, Hannah, Ellen and Julie who meet monthly to discuss the books they read. These ladies have very different lives but have similar interests when it comes to reading books they choose. They find that they are very unhappy with the ending of a particular book so have agreed to each write a different ending to the story. These endings I think are influenced a lot with what is going on in their won lives. The book also tells the individual stories of these friends. We learn about the intricacies of marriage and raising children, how cancer can be a devastating illness, and how over the course of the story how each woman realizes that friendship can be a wonderful thing and that they need to make some changes in their lives to be happy. Told with humor, compassion and love, this is a great story. I love how the author intermingled each of the women's stories into a novel that is definitely unputdownable . If you love a great women's fiction novel than you can not go wrong with this one.

I received this book from http://www.kelleyandhall.com and was not monetarily compensated for said review.
