Cold Feet by Amy FitzHenry Spotlight!

Today it is my pleasure to feature a debut novel by Amy FitzHenry called Cold Feet, a story about 'what if's'. Come take a look!

"Funny, incisive, and relatable...[A] smart, big-hearted debut [that] will have you flying through the pages." —Steph Opitz, book reviewer, Marie Claire

“A heartwarming and uproariously funny debut about the way our pasts can shape our futures when it comes to love.  FitzHenry explores female friendship, marriage, and family with wisdom and wit.”
J. Courtney Sullivan, New York Times bestselling author of Commencement

“A heartwarming and effortlessly relatable novel about friendship and commitment, fidelity and marriage, and how to let go of the past to create a great future. A winning and funny debut.”
Laura Dave, author of Eight Hundred Grapes

“FitzHenry”s voice, vivid with wit and charm, pops off the page from the very first words...An absolute treat from start to finish.”
Bethany Chase, USA Today bestselling author of The One that Got Away

“A dazzling debut—clever, charming, and insightful all at once.”
Emily Liebert, the author of Those Secrets We Keep

Everyone’s expecting her to walk down the aisle.  But something is telling her to run.

What if you had never gone on that date in college with the man who you now call your husband? What if you never applied to your current job because you didn’t think you were qualified enough? What if you never went to the flea market, and never got to adopt the dog you now call your best friend? “What ifs” run through our heads on a daily basis, and this time, debut author Amy FitzHenry is putting them on paper.

Emma Moon’s mother thinks it’s acceptable to miss her only daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner for a work obligation. Her father left when she was six months old. Emma hasn't exactly been raised to be a happily-ever-after kind of girl. So when her anxieties get out of hand, Emma and her best friend, Liv, decide to take a road trip to San Francisco, find her long-lost father, and put her family issues to rest.

But her quest for the truth stirs up events and emotions she didn’t expect. The urge to run away may just be a part of Emma’s genetic makeup, because she’s growing more and more tempted to do just that.  Pre-wedding jitters turn into serious doubts in this fresh and funny debut about tying the knot and untethering from the past.

Amy FitzHenry is anything but your ordinary writer. While working 80-hours a week as a lawyer for the popular charity, Movember Foundation, which raises money for cancer research (“Yes, I practice moustache law, and yes, it’s fantastic.”), Amy wrote throughout the night to follow her dream of becoming an author.  This debut novel was imagined from her own life, with her own faux “what ifs.”  COLD FEET (Berkley Trade Paperback Original; September 1, 2015; $15is the fictional journey of one woman’s quest towards self-discovery that so many of us have dreamed of taking, and for Amy, one of her imagined adventures comes to life on the pages.

Amy FitzHenry, a Virginia native, attended the College of William and Mary and the University of Virginia School of Law. She is currently living in LA and, when she isn’t writing, practices law as the in-house counsel for the global men’s health charity, the Movember Foundation. Cold Feet is her first novel.
