Cynthia von Buhler, aka Countess von Buhler, is an American artist, performer, playwright and author. Hailed by the press as “multitalented and eccentric” (Boston Globe), a “rising star” (NY Arts), and “one of the top contemporary surrealists” (Art & Antiques), Cynthia von Buhler has made a name for herself as an award-winning and critically acclaimed fine artist, author, and illustrator. Her illustration work has won awards from the Society of Illustrators and has repeatedly appeared in American Illustration, Communication Arts and the Society of Illustrator annuals of the best illustration in America. Von Buhler's stunning, three-dimensional paintings have been displayed in galleries and museums around the world, and have been featured in books, newspapers and magazines from Rolling Stone to The New Yorker. My Review

The Illuminati Ball by Cynthia von Buhler is a graphic novel featuring the Illuminati Ball that caters to the rich and powerful and is a secret organization that controls the world with human-animal hybrids that have escaped. A fantasy tale of power, cruelty, deceit, it also shows the reader the history and science. 

I read and enjoyed Minky Woodcock: The Girl Who Handcuffed Houdini another great graphic novel by the author. The author's illustrations are impressive and wonderful. I loved the Illuminati Ball because of the illustrations and the storyline which was quite a fantasy and sinister adventure. Note: this is a graphic novel for adults, not for children as it is pretty graphic.

I don't often read graphic novels but whenever I am offered a book by her, I can't wait to read it. I love the illustrations that are beautiful stunning! The storyline was definitely scientific in nature which was ok, have to think outside the box!

If you love a graphic novel, then this one is one you do not want to miss!
