In Search of The One: How to Attract the Relationship You've Longed For By Randy Siegel

In Search of The One: How to Attract the Relationship You've Longed For
By Randy Siegel
Genre: Self Help – Relationship, Family, Parenting

Are you longing for your soul mate…the perfect life partner…“The One”—but aren’t sure how to attract the right romantic relationship into your life?  Or perhaps you’re already in a relationship—even a long-term one—but you secretly wonder if there might be someone out there with whom you’d be better suited? Cinderella, don’t give up on the prince!
Drawing from personal experience as well as insight from a wide array of experts, In Search of The One: How to Attract the Relationship You’ve Longed explores how to:

  • Debunk the myths around “The One” and stop savior seeking.
  • Examine the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual components of longing for a romantic relationship.
  • Convert longing into loving so that you can become your best self and live your best life.
  • Attract or rebuild a relationship so great that you could only imagine it until now.

In In The Search for The One, Randy Siegel explains that the true source of all longing is to be seen, heard, understood, and loved for all we are. By redirecting our focus on three psycho-spiritual paths—the evolution of the unconscious to the conscious self, the defended to the authentic self, and the higher to the divine self—we can find peace and grow personally while attracting a special kind of romantic relationship—a spiritual partnership—into our life.
The distance between longing and love is not as great as you might think.

Genres: Mythology, Romance, Young Adult
Still reeling after killing the man she loved, Atropos turns her attention to the twin tasks of avenging his death and freeing humanity from the deadly grip of the Keres. When she sets out on a murderous mission to retrieve her shears, her only aide is her temperamental ex-boyfriend, Ares. He is fickle at best, traitorous at worst, and assistance from him may be worse than none at all.
Along the way, she allies with a group of powerful supernaturals and learns that the crimes of the gods are more twisted and far-reaching than she realized. What begins as a quest for vengeance becomes a journey through betrayal, loss, love, and hope. It ignites a war that will pit Atropos against the gods in a battle for the freedom of humanity.

EXCERPT:
When we reach Alex’s house, I’m not surprised to see that it’s been vandalized. With no residents to defend it, it was easy pickings. The front door’s been kicked in and the frame is splintered so it won’t close properly. A couple of the windows are broken, too. Once we’re inside, I’m relieved to see that most of the damage is limited to the kitchen. Whoever came here was looking for food and not much else. The presence of a rotting, stinking corpse on the kitchen floor probably made them hurry up and get out.
I leave Ares and Elaina to gather up any dog food and supplies they can find as I make my way down the hall to Alex’s room. Stopping in the doorframe, I grip it hard to keep myself upright. The memories and the grief come fast and hard, threatening to overwhelm me. The hospital bed is still in the room, as is most of the medical equipment that kept him alive those last few days. No one’s made the bed, so the sheets are still rumpled from Alex’s body.
The IV still hangs on the pole next to the bed, and the oxygen tank is on the floor under the bed. The needle and tubing for the IV and the cannula for the oxygen rest on the mattress where I dropped them the night I took Alex away from here to die in peace. The book we were reading together lies facedown on the mattress, open to the page where we left off. Everything is frozen in time, except the most important part. Alex is gone and he isn’t coming back.
Alex’s bookcases still droop alarmingly, although they aren’t as orderly as they once were. It appears the looters rifled through them, probably looking for stray cash tucked in the pages of the books. I force myself to cross the room and scan the shelves for anything that might indicate where Emily has gone. I also check the desk, but find nothing in either place.
I cross to the bed and can’t help myself. Picking up the pillow, I hug it to my chest, burying my nose in it. I catch the last whiff of Alex’s shampoo, the same fruity-spicy scent he always used. I’m aware this isn’t good for me and it’s not helping us with our mission, so I reluctantly put it down. But I can’t resist one other thing. Grabbing the book, I fold down the corner of the page we were on and tuck it in my waistband next to the gun. It’s sentimental and dumb, but I want to remember our reading time.
When I turn to leave, Ares is standing in the doorframe, watching me with an expression that is both pitying and concerned. I can stand the latter, but I don’t need his pity.
“Don’t say anything,” I warn as I push past him and head down the hall toward Emily’s room.
“I just came to see if you’re okay. I figured this would be hard for you.”
“Just getting up in the morning is hard for me, but I do it,” I say. “I’ll be okay.”

Author Bio:
Jennifer is a freelance writer and novelist. As a freelancer, she writes everything from technical manuals to articles on personal finance and European-style board games. Her interest in storytelling began when she was six and her parents gave her a typewriter for Christmas and agreed to pay her $.01 per page for any stories she churned out. Such a loose payment system naturally led to a lot of story padding. Broken Fate, her first novel, earned her $2.80 from her parents.
Jennifer lives in North Carolina and, when not writing, can often be found reading, trawling the shelves at the library, playing board games, watching sports, camping, running marathons, and playing with her dog. You can visit her at her official website:www.JenniferDerrick.com.

@lovingthebook @LoraDeeprose The Still Life of Hannah Morgan by Lora Deeprose Book Tour!

Hannah Morgan's life is at a standstill. Her dreams of becoming an artist vanished with the sudden death of her grandmother and mentor. To appease her distant and disapproving mother, Hannah gets a respectable job at a high-end day spa.
Instead of painting masterpieces, Hannah spends her days painting nails and giving facials to wealthy women. Her dreams for the future have become a hideous nightmare. And it just keeps getting worse. She catches her boyfriend cheating, loses her job, and has to watch from the sidelines as her best friend, Jasmine Blue, goes after her own dreams of owning her own salon.
Then she meets Aaron, a working artist, and finds in him a kindred spirit. And, to her surprise, she finds the courage to follow her dreams. When circumstances beyond her control threaten to destroy both her relationship with Aaron and her dreams of a bright future, Hannah fears her mother was right-that some dreams aren't meant to come true.

“As a small child I dreamed of growing up to be a chestnut mare. I was terribly disappointed when I found out people couldn’t magically transform into animals but I got over it by immersing myself in the world of fairy tales and thus began my lifelong passion for reading and make-believe.”

Lora Deeprose has a B.A. in Drama with a minor in History. She was born in the small town of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; the middle child of five girls.  In 2006, she and her eldest sister moved to a hobby farm in the remote Kootenay area of British Columbia and for five years had several country adventures which included raising chickens and goats, encounters with wildlife and wrangling the neighbour’s horses. Currently she lives in BC’s Eastern Fraser Valley.

Read an excerpt!
I glanced up as a man took a seat across from me, catching the barest whiff of his cologne when he walked by.  It wasn’t an overpowering smell; it was, well, yummy.  I took a deep breath.  The scent reminded me of a forest of ancient cedars, of lush green plants, and sunshine.
I stole a quick look at his face.  My breath caught in my throat as I looked into a pair of the most gentle brown eyes I had ever seen.  Little jolts of electricity shivered up my spine.  Without even thinking about it, I smiled at him.  The eyes staring back at me crinkled deliciously and he smiled back.
I caught myself staring at his lips.  I looked down at the magazine in my lap.  I flipped through the glossy pages, but my mind wasn’t registering what the images were, much less the actual words.
Oh my God, he looks as delicious as he smells.
I wanted to look at him again, to take him all in, but I was nervous.  Nervous and stupid.  He just smiled to be polite, and I acted like some giggly schoolgirl.  I couldn’t help myself; I stole another quick glance at him anyway.  He had sandy blond hair, high cheekbones, and an aquiline nose that would have made him look too haughty if it were not for his eyes.  A girl could definitely get lost in those eyes.
“Hi,” he said.
“Hi,” I mumbled back.
“We’re ready for you now.”  The shampoo girl approached from behind me.
Startled, I dropped the magazine on the floor.  I stood up feeling like an idiot.  Yummy Man reached down and retrieved the magazine from the floor.
“Here you go.”  He held the magazine out for me to take.
I couldn’t think of anything witty to say so I just smiled, took the magazine, and let the shampoo girl lead me over to the sinks.  I focused all my energy on looking nonchalant as I walked to the shampoo chair, hoping my legs wouldn’t give way before I sat down.
Hannah get a grip, an attractive man smiles and says hello, and you turn into a brainless twit.
I pretended not to notice the sly smile on the shampoo girl’s face.  Instead, I leaned back and closed my eyes, enjoying the feel of the hot spray on my head.

The intensity of his focus on the image and the pure, charismatic energy he exuded captivated me.  I stared at him while he continued to tell the story, his focus still on the photo.
His dark, wavy hair just brushed his shoulders, and unlike Yummy Man, Aaron had a five o’clock shadow that accentuated his strong jaw.  He was average height with a long, lean frame.  I could tell he definitely didn’t spend hours in the gym lifting weights, but he was in no way a wimp, judging by the way that his sweater pulled nicely over the curve of his bicep when he raised his arm to gesture at the photo.
Where were all these good-looking men when I started dating Mason, and why were they all popping out of the woodwork today?  Things were definitely starting to look up.  Maybe my life and my luck were taking a turn for the better.  I felt a giddy impulse to start humming “It’s Raining Men” when Aaron suddenly turned his gaze on me.  His eyes were a very pale blue, almost a silvery colour.

Learn About the Brand
The Roman Goddess of healing, Valentia, relied on nature’s gifts to heal the citizens of Umbria. Whether matriarchs seeking to maintain their youthful look or farmers seeking help for sun damaged skin, Valentia used berries, herbs, barks and other natural ingredients. We also rely on all natural ingredients due to their protective, preventative and corrective powers.

Just like our namesake, Valentia Skin Care products have been formulated with natural and organic cosmetic ingredients that will repair and protect the skin.

After performing extensive research into what skin care customers find most important, we found an overwhelming demand for skin care that is natural, free of toxins and paraben-free. Natural ingredients with an organic base have proven most effective at repairing skin damaged by sun or the wind, preventing signs of aging such as wrinkles, dark spots, and reversing the effects of oxidative stress on the skin.

My Review
Like other products I have tried from Valentia, the Valentia Pure Glow Moisturizer has simple ingredients such as Ginseng, Shea Butter, and Safflower Oil. This product came in a small brown bottle, 4 oz, with a pump. You only need a little as a few pumps go a long way. I have been using this product for about a month. Because of certain medications I take, my face can get kind of dry, plus we are headed into cooler months and in Northern Wisconsin, the air gets kind of dry.
I have been using it in the morning and before I go to bed. It goes on nice like I said only 3-4 pumps is enough for my face and neck. It absorbs quickly and leaves no oily residue like some other brands of moisturizer can. Over time I hope to see a difference as far as dark spots and lines. Valentia makes quality products that I really like!
I received this product for review purposes.

Silicon Valley is my home. I love its foibles and the easy access to some of the most beautiful coastal and mountain terrain anywhere. The traffic? Not so much.

It hasn’t always been home—I’ve lived in five states and two countries. Traveling to other areas, I’m frequently reminded that what seems normal in the high-tech heartland can seem freakish, odd, or even alarming to the rest of the country.

I’m a big fan of irony, serendipity, diversity, and quirky intelligence tempered with gentle humor, and I strive to bring these elements into my writing. My characters, however, tend to take my manuscripts in directions I’ve never imagined. It can be a wild ride, but I love it when Maggie and her friends take charge.

While there are always traits that writers share with their characters, I assure you that Maggie is thinner, fitter, braver, funnier, and wittier than I am. Maggie is also more organized, efficient, poised, and better at thinking on her feet. We both love animals, a strong cup of coffee, cookies, and a cold glass of California chardonnay.

I’m a firm believer in professional organizations and am a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and the Authors Guild (which sounds like it should confer robes, wands, and the ability to do magic). I particularly adore the Writers’ Police Academy, where I’ve met lifelong friends who share my excitement about learning the best ways to murder someone and get away with it.

When Maggie told me she was a professional organizer, I joined the National Association of Professional Organizers and was delighted to meet organizers who generously shared their experiences stumbling on damning evidence amongst ordinary household clutter.

I’m a Smith College graduate with a degree in Sociology and a broad smattering of other subjects. I guess that makes me well suited to examine and catalogue Silicon Valley’s unique anthropological customs. I live with and have raised excellent examples of the indigenous nerd.

Before my career as a mom, volunteer, and writer, I worked in Corporate Communications, which taught me to write compelling copy about vacuum tubes and other items of limited interest to the general public. Outside the world of the Fortune 500 and nonprofits my writing credits include first-place recognition from SouthWest Writers for a young adult short story and finalist status in contests run by Writer’s Digest, Pacific Northwest Writers, and Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. My personal essays have been published in anthologies published by Mothers At Home and Mothers of Preschoolers.
