Seducing Mr. Sykes by Maggie Robinson Book Tour and Giveaway!

SEDUCING MR. SYKES
by Maggie Robinson
Genre: Historical Romance

Pub Date: 6/20/17

In Maggie Robinson’s sparkling new series, the quaint village in Gloucestershire is where the wayward sons and daughters of Great Britain’s finest families come for some R&R—and good old-fashioned “rehab.” But sometimes they find much more…
No one at Puddling-on-the-Wold ever expected to see Sarah Marchmain enter through its doors. But after the legendary Lady’s eleventh-hour rejection of the man she was slated to marry, she was sent here to restore her reputation . . . and change her mind. It amused Sadie that her father, a duke, would use the last of his funds to lock her up in this fancy facility—she couldn’t be happier to be away from her loathsome family and have some time to herself. The last thing she needs is more romantic distraction…
As a local baronet’s son, Tristan Sykes is all too familiar with the spoiled, socialite residents of the Puddling Rehabilitation Foundation—no matter how real their problems may be. But all that changes when he encounters Sadie, a brave and brazen beauty who wants nothing more than to escape the life that’s been prescribed for her. If only Tristan could find a way to convince the Puddling powers-that-be that Sadie is unfit for release, he’d have a chance to explore the intense attraction that simmers between them—and prove himself fit to make her his bride…

Maggie Robinson didn’t know she wanted to write until she woke up in the middle of the night once really annoyed with her husband. Instead of smothering him with a pillow, she decided to get up and write—to create the perfect man—at least on a computer screen. Only to discover that fictional males can be just as resistant to direction as her husband. The upside is that she’s finally using her English degree and is still married to her original, imperfect hero. Since she’s imperfect, too, that makes them a perfect match. Until her midnight keyboarding, she had been a teacher, librarian, newspaper reporter, administrative assistant to two non-profits, community volunteer, and mother of four in seven different states. Now Maggie can call herself a romance writer in Maine. There’s nothing she likes better than writing about people who make mistakes, but don’t let the mistakes make them.

The Battle For Vale By Erin D. Andrews Book Blitz!

The Battle For Vale
By Erin D. Andrews
Blurb:
After the long, fiery war had raged and King Osiris of Avalon took the seven realms, the once rich green lands now sat as nothing more than ash and cinder. Osiris and his commander, Holland, have reached a precipice where they must decide to chase their thirst for revenge, or stay sitting in the fires of the Cinder Territories. Princess Leonetta, once the future Queen of Avalon, has fled, leaving Osiris and her love behind in search of the great Kingdom of the Vale.
The fae, Leonetta’s heritage, are a peaceful and serene species and sit under the rule of the great King Anthurium, his wife Queen Seville, and their beautiful daughter, Asphodul. As the seas begin to drift the remnants of a bloody war to the Vale’s shores and the storms push across the magical realms in the east, the war begins to churn.
Will Osiris’ anger drive the fae from their beautiful lands and leave Leonetta in the hands of the gods, or will magic prevail?"

Snippet #1
"The crashing sound of a whip against the skin echoed through the garden of Avalon. King Osiris, in his constant anger over the treasonous betrayal of his daughter, plucked his people from the streets one at a time and questioned them about her whereabouts. He was sure she had been the one who took the people from the outlying realms before the attacks and therefore assumed those left behind knew something. However, whether due to their loyalty to the princess or their lack of real intel, one by one they fell to the punishment of the Whip.
Holland stood out on the balcony of the throne room, tired of watching the bloody mist fly from the backs of innocent people. He didn’t seem to care anymore for the favor of the king, but he knew if he turned his back now he was as good as dead. With Leonetta flying off, taking most of the kingdom with her, a dark cloud had fallen over the Cinder Territories, even darker than the wars. The king had just returned from the ports where he discovered that the ships were left tied to the docks, holes punched into the bottoms of them. By the time the army had gotten there, all that was left was half sunken ships and burning tinder."
Snippet #2
"Leonetta ran her hands over the cold stone arms of the throne. Her thoughts lingered on her father’s memorial just hours before. It was the first fae funeral she had ever attended, and it was much different than those in Avalon. The fae body, when ready, didn’t get lowered into a darkened pit and covered with dirt. Instead, a chanting commenced and the body dissolved, the king’s magic flowing outward and into the sky. The area where the physical body was left in dust lit up in vibrant colors on its own. The fae in attendance then began singing melodies in the old fae language. The chorus of voices floated down the walls and into the streets of Athanasia where the people of Vale stood with lit candles. As the melody pierced their ears, they began to sing as well until the choir of the Vale could surely be heard across the realms."
Snippet #3
"Even in the bright morning sun, the wisps of magical spells could be seen across the gorge in a field laid for training. Queen Seville emerged from her chambers and stepped out on the balcony, stretching her eyes high into the air. Her days of mourning were over, and she would spend the morning being briefed on the events that occurred while she was away. Then, as the sun begins its decent toward the horizon, the Mourning Gala would commence. Though her heart was not complete, Seville was looking forward to laughter and music, something her king had always loved.
Seville turned and entered back into her room and stood, watching the workers open drapes, extinguish insense, and allow life back into her world. The door to the castle was open, and Seville looked up at the Faith standing in the chamber opening. He bowed deeply and reached his hand out to her. A warm feeling filled her, knowing she was no longer alone in her solace and could see the bright faces of her daughters."

4. Pepper O’Brien.
As the daughter of a famed film producer, Pepper O’Brien is Hollywood royalty.

Because, unfortunately for her, the old adage is true: money can’t buy everything—including grace, true love, or the ability to not screw up every single opportunity her life has brought her.
After her latest disaster, Pepper moves across the country to start over but, as usual, her life has other plans, namely in the form of Derek Cashette, her former teenage crush and now ridiculously handsome friend of her older brother.
Derek is determined to salvage the train wreck of her life and Pepper’s determined not to let him. Her life is her problem and, dammit, why can’t she be her own hero?

Bad Blood by Brian McGilloway Book Tour and Giveaway!

Bad Blood by Brian McGilloway

Bad Blood

by Brian McGilloway

on Tour June 26 - July 31, 2017

Synopsis:

A young man is found in a riverside park, his head bashed in with a rock. One clue is left behind to uncover his identity—an admission stamp for the local gay club.
DS Lucy Black is called in to investigate. As Lucy delves into the community, tensions begin to rise as the man’s death draws the attention of the local Gay Rights group to a hate-speech Pastor who, days earlier, had advocated the stoning of gay people and who refuses to retract his statement.
Things become further complicated with the emergence of a far-right group targeting immigrants in a local working-class estate. As their attacks escalate, Lucy and her boss, Tom Fleming, must also deal with the building power struggle between an old paramilitary commander and his deputy that threatens to further enflame an already volatile situation.
Hatred and complicity abound in McGilloway’s new Lucy Black thriller. Compelling and current, Bad Blood is an expertly crafted and acutely observed page-turner, delivering the punch that readers of Little Lost Girl have grown to expect.

Read an excerpt:

The hall was already packed by the time Detective Inspector Tom Fleming arrived. The air was sweet with perfume and talc and, beneath that, from the farmers still wearing their work clothes, the scent of sweat and the smell of the earth.
The congregation were on their feet, being led in the opening hymn by Pastor James Nixon. Fleming smiled apologetically at those he squeezed past to get to a free seat in the third row from the back. The hymn finished, the assembly took their seats just as Fleming reached his, and settled to listen to the words of Pastor Nixon.
‘My brothers and sisters, it is a great honour to be here with you this evening and to see so many of you have taken the time to come and pray with me.’ His voice was strong despite his age, a rich baritone still carrying the inflections of his native Ballymena accent.
‘But it is a time of great challenge for us all. Daily, all good people face an assault on their morality with the rampant homosexual agenda that assails us and belittles everything we hold to be true and dear. Men of conscience are tried for refusing to make a cake celebrating homosexuality or print leaflets and posters furthering that agenda. And on the other side of the border, the Irish Republic has voted to allow homosexuals to marry, as if two women playing house is no different to the consummated union of a man and a woman. As if it is not a perversion which shames us all.
A few voices appended his comment with ‘Amen’.
Nixon raised his hands, acknowledging their support. ‘There are those who would silence me, silence us. They tell us we must accept homosexuals in our town, our shops, allow homosexual bars and public houses to operate on our streets. We must allow sodomites to teach our children and to corrupt our young. We must stay silent while a new Gomorrah is built next to our homes and farms, our shops and schools. They say I am dangerous. They say I preach hatred. They say I should be silent. But I say this: I say that there is no danger in truth. I say that there is no hatred in goodness. And I say that I will not be silent.’
Another chorus of ‘Amens’ greeted his proclamation, accompanied by a smattering of applause which began at the front and rippled its way through the hall.
‘I will not stand idly by as our families are exposed to sin and depravity. I will not countenance the laws of the land being used to protect profane persons, allowing them to indulge their lustful practices, forcing those of us with consciences to humour this lifestyle. It is an abomination. The people who practise it are abominations and, like those before them, they will end in fire and brimstone.’
Fleming glanced around at the others in the congregation. While one or two shifted uncomfortably in their seats, for the most part the listeners sat intently waiting for Nixon to continue.
‘Friends, only last week, I read of an African nation – a heathen nation, a Godless nation – who arrested two men for homosexual acts. One of these men was sixteen. Sixteen! And do you know what they did to the pair of them? They stoned them. They took them out of the town and they threw rocks at them until the pair of them were dead. And do you know what I thought? Shall I tell you?’
An elderly lady in the front row called out ‘Yes’, to the amusement of those around her. Nixon smiled mildly at her, as if indulging her.
‘Stoning was too good for those men. Every rock that struck them was a just reward for their sinfulness, their immorality, their ungodly behaviour. Every drop of their blood that stained the ground was a reminder that they deserved to die. It was the wages of their sin!’

FROM THE AWARD-WINNING AUTHOR OF THE MEMORY PAINTER COMES A SWEEPING AND SUSPENSEFUL TALE OF ROMANCE, FATE, AND FORTUNE.

Semele Cavnow appraises antiquities for an exclusive Manhattan auction house, deciphering ancient texts—and when she discovers a manuscript written in the time of Cleopatra, she knows it will be the find of her career. Its author tells the story of a priceless tarot deck, now lost to history, but as Semele delves further, she realizes the manuscript is more than it seems. Both a memoir and a prophecy, it appears to be the work of a powerful seer, describing devastating wars and natural disasters in detail thousands of years before they occurred. The more she reads, the more the manuscript begins to affect Semele’s life. But what happened to the tarot deck? As the mystery of her connection to its story deepens, Semele can’t shake the feeling that she’s being followed. Only one person can help her make sense of it all: her client, Theo Bossard. Yet Theo is arrogant and elusive, concealing secrets of his own, and there’s more to Semele’s desire to speak with him than she would like to admit. Can Semele even trust him? The auction date is swiftly approaching, and someone wants to interfere—someone who knows the cards exist, and that the Bossard manuscript is tied to her. Semele realizes it’s up to her to stop them: the manuscript holds the key to a two-thousand-year-old secret, a secret someone will do anything to possess.
