Asbury’s fearless foursome is back!

Is their favorite hangout to blame for recent food poisonings? Or is there something more sinister at work?

After an unprecedented first year of high school, the gang is ready for a relaxing summer vacation, although in Asbury, that may be easier said than done. This summer, the Food Network is running a summer special highlighting local hot spots, Carly, Maddie, Pilot and Cornelious are psyched to have the world’s best restaurant featured—their very own Brady’s! In fact, Maddie can almost forget that her arch-nemesis, Alexis Johnson, will also be on TV for winning the logo design for Caulfield’s Candies… almost.

However, after patrons start falling ill, shoobies and locals alike point the finger at Brady’s and rumors of food poisoning. When Brady’s threatens to close its doors, Pilot realizes his mother’s job is in jeopardy, as well as his future in Asbury. With the aid of Cornelious’ wealthy cousin Dane, who spends every summer with the quartet, the gang is once again thrust into an investigation. Unfortunately, they find themselves thwarted by both the local police (who believe their recent success was due to luck, rather than skill), and Cornelious’ father, who has decided to run for Mayor of Asbury and cautions his son on the need to maintain a spotless public image.

With a new pancake house on the boardwalk, Mainlanders invading their beaches, and the Pitbulls sneaking around and terrorizing shoobies (as usual), there’s no shortage of suspects. But can they solve the case before the summer, and Brady’s, are finished?

About Kelly Brady Channick

For as long as she could remember, Kelly Brady Channick loved making up stories, and leaving her listeners/readers on the edge of their seats. Perhaps that’s why she always managed to talk herself out of trouble... After graduating from NJ’s own Ocean City High School, Kelly accepted a basketball scholarship to Holy Family University, in Philadelphia. As a lifelong athlete, Kelly understands the importance of teamwork and overcoming adversity, something she hopes translates into her books. Before writing page-turners, she taught first, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade — like a dessert menu, she simply had to test them all out. But her favorite job is the one she’s now doing full time: writing. Kelly loves to craft whodunit mysteries, leading readers through various twists and turns filled with red-herrings, hidden clues, and more peculiar characters than a reality show. Kelly lives in South Jersey with her handsome husband, energetic baby boy, two cookie-stealing dogs, and an awfully smart cat.

Cozy Mystery 1st in Series

Publisher: Crooked Lane Books (September 8, 2020)

Hardcover ISBN-10: 1643854380

ISBN-13: 978-1643854380

A Shakespearean scholar inherits a beachside bookshop--and a murder mystery--in this delightful new cozy series for fans of Kate Carlisle and Ellery Adams.

Summer Merriweather's career as a Shakespeare professor hangs by a bookbinder's thread. Academic life at her Virginia university is a viper's pit, so Summer spends her summer in England, researching a scholarly paper that, with any luck, will finally get her published, impress the Dean, and save her job. But her English idyll ends when her mother, Hildy, shuffles off her mortal coil from an apparent heart attack.

Returning to Brigid's Island, NC, for the funeral, Summer is impatient to settle the estate, sell her mom's embarrassingly romance-themed bookstore, Beach Reads, and go home. But as she drops by Beach Reads, Summer finds threatening notes addressed to Hildy: "Sell the bookstore or die."

Clearly, something is rotten on Brigid's Island. What method is behind the madness? Was Hildy murdered? The police insist there's not enough evidence to launch a murder investigation. Instead, Summer and her Aunt Agatha screw their courage to the sticking place and start sleuthing, with the help of Hildy's beloved book club. But there are more suspects on Brigid's Island than are dreamt of in the Bard's darkest philosophizing. And if Summer can't find the villain, the town will be littered with a Shakespearean tragedy's worth of corpses--including her own.

Empire of Jackals by Morgan Cole #SilverDaggerBookTours #BookTour & #Giveaway °❃*⚡⚡*❃°#Fantasy #Epic #Adventure #EmpireOfJackals #FREE #MariliaTheWarlord #TheChrysathamereTrilogy

Empire of Jackals
Chrysathamere Trilogy Book 2
by Morgan Cole
Genre: Fantasy
The war with Tyrace is over.
It was supposed to be a time of celebration. Of triumph. But for Marilia Sandara, hero of Chrysathamere Pass, the cost was too high. After watching he childhood friends slaughtered before her eyes, all she wants to do is sail back to Svartennos and try to forget the price she had to pay for her victory.

But the peace isn’t long to last. After Emperor Vergana makes a shocking announcement—that he means to disinherit his true-born son, Rufyllys, in favor of his adopted child, Prince Ilruyn—the seeds are sown that will plunge Navessea back into war. This time, Marilia and her twin brother, Annuweth, find themselves on opposite sides of a conflict that threatens to undo all they fought for. By the time the dust settles and the killing stops, only one of the children of Karthtag-Kal may be left standing.

Marilia, The Warlord
Chrysathamere Trilogy Book 1
Born the bastard daughter of a painted lady, Marilia was told she would live out her days within the walls of her mother’s brothel, a companion for the rich men of Tyrace. But after a terrible betrayal, Marilia’s world turns upside down. With the help of her twin brother, Annuweth, she flees the only home she’s ever known in search of the one man who can offer her a chance at a better life: one of her deceased father’s friends, the Emperor of Navessea’s greatest general.

What follows is a journey spanning years, from the streets of the desert city of Tyracium to the splendor of the emperor’s keep and the wind-swept, wild island of Svartennos. Along the way, Marilia discovers, for the first time, the gift she has for strategy and warfare—a world that is forbidden to girls like her.

When the empire is threatened by a foreign invasion, the defense of Navessea is left in the hands of a cruel and arrogant general no match for the empire's foes. With the fate of her new home and her family hanging in the balance, Marilia swears to use all her courage and cunning to help repel the enemy...if she can convince anyone to follow her.

The struggle that follows will test her to her core and lead her back to the past she thought she had escaped. Facing treachery within her own ranks as well as a devious enemy commander, Marilia will need all the help she can get, even if it means doing something her brother may never forgive—making a pact with the man who murdered her father.

Inspired by The Song of Achilles and Ender’s Game, Marilia, the Warlord is a blend of the epic and the personal, a story of war, romance, envy, the rivalry between brother and sister, and a young woman’s fight to find her place in the world.

After being bombarded with one too many school motivational posters, I decided to “shoot for the moon” by pursuing a risky double-major in creative writing and history on the assumption that the worst-case scenario would be landing among the stars. I instead landed in long-term unemployment—and unpaid internships, let’s not forget the unpaid internships—in small-town Ohio. Eventually, after several re-writes and two unhappy years, my first novel (not counting a couple of incredibly pretentious high fantasy books from my high school and college years that have all hopefully been hunted down and burned) was picked up by a literary agent—and then put back down when it was determined it was not marketable to a young adult audience.
Eventually, I began making more financially sound life choices and now work as an attorney in the public sector while continuing to write on the side.

The Dating Itinerary by Brook Williams Book Tour and Giveaway!

THE DATING ITINERARY

by Brooke Williams Publication Date: September 7, 2020 Genres: Adult, Entangled: Lovestruck, Contemporary, Romance, Romantic Comedy

SYNOPSIS

As if it wasn’t bad enough to be deemed the “most single person” at her magazine’s office, budding reporter Penny has now been tapped to write a series of features called “The Dating Game.” From speed dating to Tinder, old-fashioned matchmakers to up-and-coming “dark dating,” Penny now has to go on a lot of dates. Silver lining: meeting new people should be fun, right? But running into her old rival, George, at her first dating event is decidedly not. Not only does the arrogant know-it-all have zero trouble attracting women, wherever Penny goes, somehow he just. Keeps. Showing. Up.

Geo knows he’s right on the cusp of writing success with the chance to have his own syndicated column. All he has to do is follow his agent’s ideas for showcasing different dating avenues, and he’ll pull in enough to help his sister’s non-profit women’s shelter get off the ground. Sure, his itinerary is starting to look strangely similar to his old rival Penny’s, but all’s fair in love and syndication, right?

The more they look for love in all the wrong places, though, the more they start to wonder if it was right in front of their noses all along. Still, the brutal dating scene just might end them, if these two don’t kill each other first.

EXCERPT:

Lucifer. The Devil? The night had taken a turn for the worse. Trudy glanced at the pill bottle. Forget the rest of today. This haunting of a witch, sorceress, and now the Devil was enough to end things. No one would ever believe her if she explained.

“Whenever I see opportunity, I’m there. This is no different. Besides, I’m convinced this will be an easy sell.” Lucifer nodded toward Miranda. “Sending in the young ones to do an adult’s job? No worries. Just makes my sell easier.”

Miranda balled her fists and pursed her lips. She stepped toward Lucifer, but Gretchen pushed her onto the couch.

“It would help if you turned the lights back on, Luce. If you want a conversation, it helps if she can see you.”

Without thinking, Trudy latched onto Miranda’s arm. The darkness was good enough. She didn’t want to know what the Devil looked like and confirm her childhood nightmares. Trudy squeezed her eyes shut as a loud clap reverberated around the room.

Miranda elbowed Trudy in the ribs. “Open your eyes.”

Trudy covered her face with her hands. “This is a dream. That means a beastlike red creature is standing in my living room. I’m good.”

Miranda giggled. “Beastlike? Do you believe everything you read? Stop believing the stereotypes and open your eyes.”

Trudy removed her hands from her face and blinked. Standing next to Gretchen was the handsomest man she had ever seen. His black hair fell to one side; his smile illuminated his green eyes and his dimples. The Devil had dimples. Trudy couldn’t wrap her head around his appearance. Wasn’t the Devil supposed to be ugly, carry a pitchfork, and have a tail?

Lucifer snapped his fingers. “It’s rude to stare.” He strolled toward Trudy and positioned himself on the cushion next to her. “Had a bad day, hun?”

Trudy stifled a laugh. This was too much. “You could say that.”

Miranda leaned across Trudy and met Lucifer’s gaze. “We already discussed her job and her mother.”

“And …?”

Gretchen sighed. “We got nowhere. Something else is causing her pain.”

Lucifer stroked his chin. “Losing your job and almost losing your mom wasn’t enough to push you over the edge.” A gleam appeared in Lucifer’s eyes. “It’s a boy. It’s always a boy. You’re dating that lawyer, Carter, right?”

Trudy scowled. “None of your business.”

“Ah, my dear, but it is my business. Everything is my business. What happened? Did he break up with you?”

“I’m not discussing it, so, if the three of you would leave …”

Miranda stroked the back of her hand. “It’s okay. Let it out. We’re here to help.”

Gretchen smirked. “We’re here to help. I’m not too sure about Luce.”

“I enjoy a good breakup story. Let’s hear it. Trudy? We’re waiting.”

Trudy shifted her gaze from Gretchen to Lucifer. Was this a nightly thing, going around town to counsel people about their bad days? She didn’t figure the Devil for the listening type. “Carter’s a jerk who doesn’t deserve my headspace.”

“Yet you’d kill yourself over him?” Lucifer asked. “Interesting.”

Trudy stood and glared at Lucifer. “You don’t understand. No one understands. I lost everything today. My job, my mom, Carter.”

“Technically your mom is—”

“Unless you can change things, shut up.”

Lucifer bowled over in laughter. “Oh, honey, I can change things. But can you pay the price?”
