Reviews!

To any authors/publishers/ tour companies that are looking for the reviews that I signed up for please know this is very hard to do. I will be stopping reviews temporarily. My husband passed away February 1st and my new normal is a bit scary right now and I am unable to concentrate on a book to do justice to the book and authors. I will still do spotlight posts if you wish it is just the reviews at this time. I apologize for this, but it isn't fair to you if I signed up to do a review and haven't been able to because I can't concentrate on any books. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. I appreciate all of you. Kathleen Kelly April 2nd 2024

About The Book:

"They are the keepers of our hope. They are better, we need them to be. They battle daily in the fight to find a cure for our loved ones. But is the dream of a cure really their mission? Have they come to see the disease, our enemy, as their benefactor? How far would they go to protect the enemy? Would they kill? Death of a cure is a novel of mystery, suspense and action. The murder of one good man by a respected colleague is more than a crushing personal deception, it is an unequaled violation of the trust of millions afflicted by a horrible disease. The brother of the murdered man, a military surgeon born to wealth and accustomed to success, is thrust into the role of homicide investigator. Discovering that his skills as a detective are insufficient, he calls upon a woman from his past for help. Together they unravel layers of evil and deception revealing that the work of this healthcare charity has little to do with curing the terrible disease born by a trusting constituency." from Amazon.com

I received this book from Ryan at Yorkshire Publishing for review.
This is a story of military surgeon Lt.Colonel Thomas Briggs who gets the notification that his brother, Dr.Ronald Briggs has committed suicide. He has a hard time believing that his brother would do that so he starts his own investigation along with the help of a friend, FBI Agent Marilena Riggati. As he digs for clues to explain his brothers death he is drawn to the organization his brother worked for. Dr.Briggs was a research scientist and was close to a cure for an as yet incurable disease. Thomas and Marilena continue to dig for clues and are in danger themselves from someone out to stop them from finding out what actually happened to Dr.Briggs.They find that everyone is not who they appear to be and all have secrets of their own.The work that Dr. Briggs had done for a cure is sabotaged by people who are only looking out for themselves with the belief if there was a cure, then they would be without the money, from the fundraising, that they currently have access to. The story has everything in it to make it a hard to put down book. Murder, mystery, greed and lots of romance make this story come together nicely. The characters are very believable and the story line well researched. This is an edge of your seat thriller. Hopefully in the future there will be more novels by this author. If you like to read a good edge of your seat medical murder mystery this is for you..excellent read.

  2. CelticLady, thanks for the review. This is a book I will read based on your comments. And, I actually found the author's background equally as interesting as what he's writing about. Can you imagine what he's run across in his work to take him down this writing path? :-)

Since you liked this book, let me recommend another that has a charitable foundation and finding hidden money to support a fundraising effort as a part of the drama and a male author whose lead character is a young woman, which I think is fascinating. Her Mother's Diary by David Curry Kahn is a suspense and romance novel that kept me intrigued enough to read it in one sitting. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
