The Aspen 2-Million Winner-Take-All by John Morris Blog Tour for Tribute Books

The Aspen 2-Million Winner-Take-All
Summary
Morgan thought he had it made.  He owned a cozy if dilapidated house in Aspen’s otherwise-fashionable West End, had lots of friends, a great business, threw the best parties in town.

Then his beautiful-but-aloof neighbor Risa sued him for a million bucks-- for killing her dog.  (Seriously.  And he hadn’t even been there.)  She was asking the judge to throw him out of town, too.  (It’s a local tradition.)

For Morgan, the money didn’t matter.  He didn’t have a nickel to his name.  But he couldn’t imagine not living in Aspen.

His only hope: to win a 2-million dollar golf tournament (held on the sly at the local links) and pay Risa off.

Either that or discover her deep, dark secret and blackmail her.

Until his best friend/lawyer suggested Option #3: “Why don’t you just get her to fall in love with you?”

John Morris' Bio:
John Morris lives in Aspen, Colorado, with his loving wife and two wonderful children.  Having worked many of the same cowboy / construction / bartender / ski-patrol jobs as his fictional counterpart Morgan, he can vouch for how easy it is for a good-looking guy to get in trouble there.

My Thoughts:
The Aspen 2-Million Winner-Take-All by John Morris is a book about a man, Morgan who has this lovely neighbor Risa, and she has a dog. Something happens to this dog and Morgan is to blame and no matter what he does or says he can't seem to convince her he had nothing to do with it. But the odds are stacked against him and Risa has decided to sue. To come up with the money that he hopes to pay to Risa because he feels he will lose the lawsuit, he signs up to win a 2 million dollar jackpot in a secret golf tournament. Since he does a lot of golfing he feels that he will not have a  problem winning this money because he considers himself a good golfer.
This story is filled with some very quirky characters, mostly women, his lawyer and the organizer of the golf tournament to name a few. I know nothing about golf and have no desire to learn but I did find this book funny. I could not figure out why Morgan would stand for being sued for an ungodly amount of money for something he may not have done. even though Morgan found himself in love with Risa, I really didn't care for her character, very shallow I think. That is alright though as this kept the story moving along. I did enjoy the story, made for a fun read with lots of humor. If you like a story about golf and skiing in Aspen then this one is for you.
I received an ecopy of this book for review and was not monetarily compensated for my review.

  2. Kathleen, Thanks for the review. Believe it or not, most of the folks I know in Aspen really are quirky characters like these. Which makes it a fun place to live. Thanks again, and I hope you have a great summer of reading! John Morris
