The Women Gather by Katalin Kennedy Virtual Book Blog Tour Review and Giveaway!!

About The Women Gather:

Nora’s mission had been demanding. She wanted to find a way for women to rediscover their true selves, denied to them throughout the centuries ‒ and to make the world a better place. When the young girl Aideen asks Tunde if she may come to Lemuria, Ontario and learn about the beginnings of the Norean Order founded in 1998, she agrees. Tunde’s preoccupation, however, is with the smooth flow of the ‘Gathering’ symposium of 2066. Women from all the Sanctuaries throughout the world are in attendance and await the momentous event: the opening of the Portal to the Outerworld. She has little time to spend with Aideen who unravels layers and layers of stories found in letters, articles, diaries, newspaper clippings and videos about the struggles and triumphs faced by Nora’s family and by the Order itself. What Aideen also detects is something she considers to be mystical  that no one wants to acknowledge.

About Katalin Kennedy:

She managed major national projects as Program Consultant on Seniors’ and Women’s Issues. My Thoughts

The Women Gather is a novel about women, but not necessarily for women alone. Because of the way women had been treated in the past and present, the creator of The Norean Order, Nora, had wanted to create a place that is better then what there was around the world in 1998.  A group of women sequestered themselves away from the Outerworld for a life of peace and meditation. Each chapter is told by a different women about their past lives and loves. The main part of the story is the opening of the Portal into the Outerworld in 2066 where women from sanctuaries of the Norean Order in other countries come together for this event. A young woman Aideen comes to Lemuria to do research about the Order, while there she learns the story from letters, diaries, videos and other media about Nora one of the founders along with her descendants. What she finds is a wonderful story, told in the past, present, and future, of the strength of women and how the concept is to make the world a better place for future generations.

A richly imagined story of a world that we all would like to have.  A life where there is no terrorism, or bad people, but a world full of peace where all peoples of the world can live together in harmony. I enjoyed the way the story was told especially the idea of empowering women. I also think the cover of the book is gorgeous and once I finished the book I could understand the meaning of the cover. I highly recommend this book for all women to read.

I received a copy of the book for review and was not monetarily compensated for my review.

  2. Hello Kathleen, Thank you so much for hosting my novel, 'The Women Gather' on your lovely web site. And, I particularly want to thank you for your review. It's always a wee apprehensive to see how others will see one's writing. On the one hand, I have committed to just letting it be out there and hope that some aspect of the message(s) I wanted to convey would be understood. But, the other side of me continues to be protective;o) And, I'm so glad you also commented on the cover by artist Tracy-Lynn Chisholm. She read the novel and that was her interpretation. Wonderful! Wishing you the very best as you continue to harness your journey. Katalin
